El Yelmo: new specialty coffee launched in 2020
El Yelmo is a new specialty coffee brand. There is a constant need to travel for coffee, both to origin countries, and also to cities around the world, constantly seeking inspiration both within and out with the coffee industry.
The brief was to create a new branding for a coffee roaster that represents the specialty coffee consumer. Specialty coffee is also characterised by direct relationships with coffee farmers—a way to recognise, and pay for, their effort and care. It matters because increasing numbers of people view coffee as an affordable luxury, not just bitter churn and burn to get them through their day.
Our creative vision was based in the 3 most important coffee attributes, altitude, origin and roast. These 3 elements are represented in the pattern. The logo is extracted from the pattern for consistency and it contains a modern and elegant typography. The branding is created to fit online and offline mediums.
